Art Statement
Capturing Dreams with Light
My artistic journey is a fusion of dreamlike landscapes, seamlessly blending fantasy with a touch of realism. My work elicits a poetic, tantalizing, and intriguing response, often mistaken for paintings due to its expressive nature.
Photography has been the heartbeat of my life, from the days of a makeshift darkroom in my parents' bathroom to the present era of digital manipulation. Imagination, surrealism, and impressionism define my art. My photographs are more than mere images; they are a canvas for the subconscious, where dreams take shape.
As a computer scientist, I initially hesitated to share my art. However, in 2016, I unveiled my work to the public at the Brick Lane Gallery in London. Since then, I've dedicated myself entirely to photography, garnering recognition through exhibitions worldwide, including the London Art Biennale 2017, and showcasing my work in cities such as London, Oxford, Bristol, Barcelona, Malaga, Rome, Amsterdam, Paris, and Dubai.
My current passion lies in the post-capture creative process, a journey of transformation where colors and forms emanate from within, often unrelated to the original subject. With a brush in hand, I navigate this creative odyssey, where each stroke brings me closer to a solution, sometimes with a euphoric "eureka" effect, almost orgasmic. The journey from photographic camera to canvas, my creative journey.

Art Biography
Dr. Martín Raskovsky is a visionary photographic artist known for his dreamlike, otherworldly landscapes that seamlessly blend fantasy with a tantalizing touch of realism. Born with a camera in his heart, Martín's artistic journey began in his early years, with a darkroom he crafted in the bathroom of his parents' home. From those formative days to the contemporary era of digital manipulation, Martín's work has been marked by a boundless imagination, surrealism, and impressionism.
His photographs, with their expressive nature, often blur the line between photography and painting, evoking emotions that resonate with viewers on a profound level. Martín is known to keep a photographic camera by his bedside, ready to capture and interpret dreams. To him, the camera is not merely a device; it's a paintbrush for manifesting his subconscious thoughts.
While Martín's professional background lies in computer science, he harbored a deep passion for art that remained hidden until 2016. The Brick Lane Gallery in London witnessed the public unveiling of his work, marking a turning point in his artistic journey. Since then, Martín has devoted himself wholeheartedly to photography, gaining international recognition through numerous exhibitions. Notable highlights include his selection for the London Art Biennale 2017 and showcases in prominent art cities such as London, Oxford, Bristol, Barcelona, Malaga, Rome, Amsterdam, Paris, and Dubai.
Martín's current artistic passion lies in the post-capture creative process. It's a voyage of transformation where colors and forms emerge from within, often unrelated to the original subject. Armed with a brush, Martín navigates this creative odyssey until a solution materializes, occasionally with a breathtaking "eureka" effect.
Beyond his art, Martín holds a distinguished educational background. He earned First Class Honors in Computing Science and a Philosophy Doctorate (Ph.D.) in the same field. His career includes roles as a Lecturer at Essex University and a Research Fellow at Oxford University.
His artistic achievements have not gone unnoticed, with accolades such as the Wildlife Art Society International 2022 Bronze Award, the 2019 Gold Award in the Digital Manipulated Art Annual Exhibition, and the Special Mention of Excellence at the London Art Biennale 2017. In 2023, Martín continues to captivate audiences through a series of exhibitions, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the world of art and his dedication to pushing the boundaries of visual creativity.
